Riihipaita is an older style Finnish civilian undershirt. Very common shirt for your average Finn during the Second World War.
This is a thicker version of the cotton shirt made out of flannel. The pattern is the same.
These shirts were bought by the Finnish military and issued as undershirts to the soldiers as there were not enough white Army undershirts to issue. There are variety of styles of Riihipaita out there - we are offering used early 1950's manufacture shirts that are identical to wartime issue types.
The shirt is a striped cotton flannel shirt, with three buttons in the front and buttons in the cuff. We've changed all the buttons to correct wartime ones. The collar is a short standing collar. The hem is relatively long so it stays inside the trousers (and warms your butt), the backside is longer than the front.
An ideal shirts for any Finnish Armed Forces impression, from officers to enlisted men, from navy to ground forces.
The shirts come in a variety of color combinations, and we do not pick and choose. They are all equally correct for the period.
