Finnish Billnäs steel works manufactured model 12.2 axe head.
This model was one of the axe types that was used in the Finnish military during the war as so called engineer axes. Engineer axes were not used only by engineers, but all branches as generic tools for building. “Engineer tools” were a designation given to tools that were larger than the standard infantry “field tools”.
There is a BILLNÄS manufacturer stamp and an SA army property stamp on this one.
The surface has small pitting resulted from rust removal.
