1940 manufactured M/38 gas mask filter.
M/38 gas mask was originally intended to be used by rear echelon troops, but ended up being the second most common gas mask type among frontline troops. It was a lot more portable than the most common M/30 gas mask.
This filter was manufactured in 1940. There is an inspection date stamp and a gas mask number stamp on side.
The original screw cap and bottom seal are present, but the bottom seal has been opened. The bottom seal has the original instruction text “remove before use” in Finnish and Swedish.
Good condition filter for a collection.
