Description
Engineer Troops branch insignia. Fastens to tunic shoulder boards.
These are brass insignia in the form of crossed axe and pickaxe in front of a spade and a vertical sword in the middle. There are spikes on the back side for fastening.
Dating these is not exact, and the differences are basically only on the spikes, but this is how we date these: prewar insignia has flat soldered spikes, wartime insignia has round soldered spikes and postwar insignia has round molded spikes.
There are some manufacturing and wear differences in these but they are all in good usable condition.
