Description

Reproductions of Finnish m/36 (m/36-39 by collectors) collar tabs for cadre NCOs and officers from May 1939 to June 1941. These collar tabs were used on m/36 wool tunics and summer blouses.

These are embroidered insignia with wool fabric and a natural colored jute backing. We replicated the designs and measurements from wartime documents, and color matched the wool and thread to original wartime tabs.

These tabs were used by cadre NCOs and officers from 27th of May 1939 to 13th of June 1941.

The officer ranks were indicated with a number of gold colored heraldic roses placed on the horizontal centerline of the collar tabs.

  • Second Lieutenant (Vänrikki): one small rose
  • Lieutenant (Luutnantti): two small roses
  • Captain (Kapteeni): three small roses
  • Major (Majuri): one large rose
  • Lieutenant Colonel (Everstiluutnantti): two large roses
  • Colonel (Eversti): three large roses

With an order on 13th of June 1941 the separate conscript and reservist insignia were abolished. Conscript and reservist NCOs were to use the same collar tabs as cadre NCOs with no epaulette chevrons. Reserve officers would use the same collar tabs, but with the golden heraldic roses like the cadre officers.

Cut the tabs so that there is about 1 – 3 mm of wool fabric left outside the outer edge. The tabs are sewn about 5 mm from the front edge of the collar and vertically centered.

Price is for a pair.
