Description
Our reproduction of a Finnish wartime canvas ammunition pouch for 45 rounds of 7.62x53r ammunition, three clips of 5 rounds per pocket. We call this a “Type 1” since there is at least one other type of canvas ammo pouch. “Type 1” is not a period designation.
This pouch type can be seen in use from the beginning of Continuation War.
The pouch is manufactured from cotton fabric with leather sides, straps and internal dividers. We used original pouches as a reference for the pattern. The pouches close with snap fasteners. There is a steel ring on the back for fastening to shoulder straps, although those were hardly ever used.
Like originals, these pouches come with several color options:
– The fabric color selection is for the outside of the pouch, the inside liner is always light khaki as per originals.
– The leather color selection is for the sides and front straps. These usually match on originals.
– On originals, the back strap colors seem to never match the side and front leather. We will select the the back strap color randomly. If you want a specific back strap color, specify it in the order comment field.
– We select the pocket flap edge leather randomly as per originals. If you want a specific flap edge leather color, specify it in the order comment field.
– The sewing thread color is also varied as per originals, from beiges to browns to black.
